Supermarionation
Links
Here is a listing of some
great Supermarionation related links. You'd be surprised how much
interest there is in the works of Gerry and Sylvia Anderson. This
is probably not an all-inclusive listing but trust me on this, if
you are really interested in this subject, poke around through
all of these sites and eventually you'll find everything that's
out on the web about the Andersons.
- Simon Wickes works for
a company that does SGML development. Check out Simon's TV Century 21 The Gerry
Anderson Home Page. It's a real masterpiece.
- J. Lester Novros II
has got a real corker of an Anderson site. This guy seems
to be plugged into to every aspect of Supermarionation fandom!
- I hear that Peter
Elliot was the first person to put an Anderson page out
on the web. Check out Peter's original Gerry Anderson Home Page.
- Adam Broom has a very
well designed Anderson Productions web site that must be seen.
- Kimberly Murphy-Smith
put together the Gerry Anderson FAQ and she does a good job of
keeping it up to date. It's loaded with all kinds of
useful fannish information.
- Ola Marten's Gerry Anderson Fan Page features downloadable sound
files!
- Dennis Nicholson
offers a web listing service to those who collect Gerry Anderson collectibles. Be sure to ask Dennis
about the Gerry Anderson Memorabilia Guide that he wrote
a few years ago.
- Engale Marketing is a mail order/retail
business operated by David Nightingale. Not only is David
an honest person to deal with, but he has been heavily
involved with Anderson fandom since the early 80s. In
many respects, he is partially responsible for the
resurgence in popularity of Supermarionation in the UK
through magazines he published like SIG and Century 21.
Engale offers many books, toys, model kits, videos and
other things pertaining to Supermarionation.
- Fanderson is the official Gerry
Anderson fan club. Their site tells you how to become a
member and what you get out of the deal.
- APA C21 is a small exclusive Gerry
& Sylvia Anderson fan club. Check them out!
- The Puppetry Home page covers Supermarionation
puppets as well as everything on the subject of puppetry
from around the world.
- Jim Kaelin's got all
of Barry Gray's theme songs digitized and all ready for
you to download from his Supermarionation Theme Song
Page.
- Want a Thunderbirds
picture to use as your Windows wallpaper? Download an
image from this Thunderbirds FTP site.
- Though the word
Supermarionation was coined when Fireball XL5 was
produced, most everyone agrees that what we all recognize
as Supermarionation started a few years earlier with
Supercar. Check out Austin Tate's Supercar site and see for yourself.
- Speaking of Fireball
XL5, check out Austin Tate's Fireball XL5 site too while you are at
it.
- The old Stingray toys
and other things in Gordon O'Byrne's Stingray Memorabilia Museum will make you green with
envy!
- Everybody's favorite
Supermarionation program seems to be Thunderbirds. See
how many people have Thunderbirds oriented web sites; Ron Kavli, Stephane Felut, Takaaki Nagano, and Peace Frog.
- Captain Scarlet is one
of my personal favorites. Realistically proportioned
puppets, great models, a cool military organization, and
graphic violence. What's not to like? Check out Raj
Rijhwani's Cloudbase web site.
- Elizabeth Dubas
maintains a nice Joe 90 page when she is not
administering her APA C21 Anderson fan club.
- Here is a great Supermarionation Sounds Page, filled with great wave
files from Fireball XL5, Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet, etc.
If you think that I am
missing a Supermarionation related web site that ought to be
listed, please let me know and I'll consider including it in the
above list. I don't want anyone complaining to me that I am
ignoring UFO, Space 1999, Terrahawks, Space Precinct and all the
other stuff that the Andersons produced. Remember, this is a
Supermarionation site and not everything that Gerry and Sylvia
Anderson did qualifies as Supermarionation!
